Smalleyus

Smalleyus is a genus of crabs in the family Pseudothelphusidae, containing the single species Smalleyus tricristatus. Smalleyus tricristatus was described by Fernando Alvarez in 1989, based on specimens collected in the Los Tuxtlas region of Veracruz, adjacent to the Gulf of Mexico . Smalleyus tricristatus is listed as Data Deficient on the IUCN Red List.

Laguna Catemaco

Laguna Catemaco is a freshwater lake located at the center of the Sierra de Los Tuxtlas in south central Veracruz, in east central Mexico. The word lagoon or laguna, in English as in Spanish, generally describes a body of water exposed to the sea, but despite the name, it is a lake. Common usage in Mexico is Laguna de Catemaco, though scientific articles prefer to use the less ambiguous name Lake Catemaco or Lago Catemaco in Spanish.

Catemaco, Veracruz

Catemaco is a municipality and city in the southeast of Mexican state of Veracruz, in the Sierra de Los Tuxtlas volcanic mountain range, along the Gulf of Mexico. In the 2005 INEGI Census, the municipality reported a total population of 46,702, of whom 22,965 lived in the municipal seat.

Maxacapan, Veracruz

Maxacapan is a village and ejido (population 981 in 2010 and 1039 in 2000) within the municipality of Catemaco, located on the edge of Laguna Catemaco, 4 kilometres south of Catemaco City in southcentral Veracruz, southeastern Mexico. Laguna Sontecomapan

Laguna Sontecomapan (Sontecomapan lagoon, also Laguna de Sontecomapan) occupies an alluvial plain in the center of the Sierra de Los Tuxtlas, {{#invoke:Coordinates|coord}}{{#coordinates:18|33|N|95|1|W||| | |name= }}, in southeast central Veracruz, east central Mexico on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico. The laguna is part of the Catemaco municipio stretching from the Gulf of Mexico to the foothills of the San Martin Tuxtla Volcano and the Sierra Santa Marta.
