On Thursday, January 31, 2013, the incumbent Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Xai-Xai, Bishop Lucio Andrice Muandula, was appointed to serve as a Member of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant Peoples by Pope Benedict XVI.

Limpopo River

The Limpopo River rises in central southern Africa, and flows generally eastwards to the Indian Ocean. The term Limpopo is the modified version of the original Sepedi name Diphororo tsa meetse. Diphororo tsa meetse means gushing strong waterfalls. The river is approximately 1,750 kilometres long, with a drainage basin 415,000 square kilometres in size. The mean annual discharge is 170 m³/s at its mouth.
