Magway, Burma

Magway is the capital city of Magway Region (formerly Magway Division) of Burma (Myanmar), and home to Magway Airport. Magway is situated on the banks of the Irrawaddy River. The Mya Tha Lun Pagoda, located at the north of the city, is the landmark of Magway. Magway Division is famous for the cultivation of sesame and many kinds of nuts.

Minbu

Minbu is a city in Magwe Division, Myanmar. As of 2004, the city has a population of 56,200. The area consists of low plain-land towards the Ayeyarwady River, and of undulating country inland rising higher and higher westwards towards the Arakan hills. Between the plain and the Arakan Yoma range is a distinct line of hills running north and south, and usually called the Nwa-Madaung hills. The submontane valleys are largely cultivated, but are deadly except to those born in them.

University of Community Health, Magway

The University of Community Health, Magway (UCH) is a public university located in Magway, Myanmar. The university offers a four-year Bachelor of Community Health (B. Comm.H. ) degree program. The graduates are allowed to practice as health assistants, many of whom are the main providers of primary health care in rural Myanmar where access to regular physicians is difficult.

Yin River

The Yin River (Yin Chaung) is a river in Magway Region, in central Burma (Myanmar), a tributary of the Irrawaddy. Arising off the southwestern slopes of Mount Natsim (1289 ft. ) and the eastern slopes of Mount Okshitkon (1104 ft. ) and Mount Setkya (1232 ft. ), the Yin River flows south past the town of Natmauk and various other villages, turning west at about latitude 20.07° N.
