Air Bagan Flight 11

Air Bagan Flight 11 was a domestic scheduled flight in Myanmar, operated by Air Bagan from Yangon to Heho. On 25 December 2012 the aircraft operating the flight, a Fokker 100, crash landed through trees removing the wings on approach to Heho Airport. The aircraft also struck power lines on descent and came to rest on fire. The aircraft was carrying 65 passengers, of whom one was killed and 11 injured. A motorcyclist on the ground was also struck and killed.

Inle Lake

Inle Lake is a freshwater lake located in the Nyaungshwe Township of Taunggyi District of Shan State, part of Shan Hills in Myanmar (Burma). It is the second largest lake in Myanmar with an estimated surface area of 44.9 square miles, and one of the highest at an altitude of 2,900 feet . During the dry season, the average water depth is 7 feet, with the deepest point being 12 feet, but during the rainy season this can increase by 5 feet .

Heho Airport

Heho Airport (Burmese: ဟဲဟိုးလေဆိပ်; is an airport serving Heho, a town in Kalaw Township, Taunggyi District, Shan State, Burma. It is the main airport serving Inle Lake, one of the top tourist destinations of Burma.

Hpaung Daw U Pagoda

Hpaung Daw U Pagoda; also spelt Hpaung Daw Oo or Phaung Daw Oo is a notable Buddhist site in Myanmar (formerly Burma), located on the Inle Lake in Shan State. The pagoda houses five small gilded images of Buddha, which have been covered in gold leaf to the point that their original forms cannot be seen. The gold-leaf application to such excess is relatively recent. Old photographs hanging on the monastery walls show some of the images in a more pristine form.
