Granrudmoen

Granrudmoen (also referred to as Øyer Sør) is the biggest population cluster in Øyer municipality, Oppland county, Norway. Its population is 1,755. It is located close to 1994 Olympic venues Hafjell and Hunderfossen. The local multi-sports team is Øyer-Tretten IF. The first element is the name of the small farm Granrud ('the clearing among the spruces'), the last element is the finite form of mo m 'moor, heath'.

Tretten

Tretten is a parish and a small village in the northern part of the Øyer municipality, Norway. Its population is 880. Tretten is located on the Losna lake, which is part of the Gudbrandsdalslågen river. The village had its own sports team Tretten IL until 1990, when a merger created Øyer-Tretten IF. Tretten was also the location of the biggest train disaster in Norway's history. The Tretten train disaster occurred on 22 February 1975 when two passenger trains collided head on.

Tretten train disaster

The Tretten train disaster occurred on 22 February 1975 when a northbound train (no. 351) from Oslo and a southbound express train (no. 404) from Trondheim, both loaded with vacationing skiers, collided head-on 1 kilometer north of Tretten station. With 27 killed, including seven children under 16, and 25 injured, it was the worst train crash in Norwegian peacetime history. One accident victim was from the United States while the rest were Norwegians, including the politician Tønnes Andenæs.

Lillehammer Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track

Lillehammer Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track (Norwegian: Lillehammer Olympiske Bob- og Akebane) is a bobsleigh, luge and skeleton track located at Hunderfossen in Lillehammer, Norway, 15 kilometers north of the town center of Lillehammer. It was completed in 1992 for the 1994 Winter Olympics, where it hosted the bobsleigh events and luge events.

Hunderfossen Familiepark

Hunderfossen Familiepark is an amusement park north of Lillehammer in the province of Oppland in Norway. The park is one of Norway's biggest tourist attractions, with over 250,000 visitors each summer. The park was founded in 1984. The park currently has more than 50 attractions. The park also has a Winter Park which opens from late December to mid-March.
