HMS Tartar (F43)

HMS Tartar was a Tribal-class destroyer of the Royal Navy that saw service in most of the naval theatres of World War II. She had an eventful career, eventually receiving the nickname 'Lucky Tartar' due to her numerous escapes from dangerous situations. She managed to survive the War, and was one of only four of the sixteen Tribal class destroyers that operated with the Royal Navy to do so.

SS Deneb

Deneb was a 1,080 GRT cargo ship that was built in 1923 as Rhenania by Nüscke & Co, Stettin for German owners. She was sold in 1924 and renamed Marth Halm In 1927, she was sold to Finnish owners and renamed Bore VII. She ran aground in 1936 and was declared a total loss. In 1937, she was sold to Germany, repaired and renamed Götaälv. In 1938 she was sold and renamed Bernhard Schulte. In 1941, she sank off the Lofoten Islands but was salvaged and repaired.

Måløy Bridge

The Måløy Bridge is a cantilever road bridge in the municipality of Vågsøy in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The bridge connects the village area of Degnepoll on the mainland and the town of Måløy on Vågsøy island. The bridge crosses over the Måløystraumen strait and Måløy island. The bridge is 1,224 metres long, the longest spans are 125 metres, and the maximum clearance to the sea is 42 metres . In total, the bridge has 34 spans.

Nordfjord

Nordfjord (English: Northern fjord - in contrast to Sunnfjord) is a fjord and a traditional district in the northern part of Sogn og Fjordane county in Western Norway. The district comprises the municipalities of Selje, Vågsøy, Bremanger, Eid, Gloppen, Hornindal, and Stryn. Nordfjord covers an area of 4,295 square kilometres and is home to a population (2010) of approximately 32,464. Historical population Year Pop.

Degnepollvatnet

Degnepollvatnet or Deknepollvatnet, known locally as Polljavatnet, is a lake in the municipality of Vågsøy in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The lake is situated between the small villages of Degnepoll and Tennebø, just 2.5 kilometres from the town of Måløy. Degnepollvatnet is a popular spot for fishing and swimming during the summer. During the winter, the lake is widely used for ice skating, but the most recent winters have not provided adequate cold weather for it to freeze.
