Stad (peninsula)
Stad or Stadlandet is a peninsula in the municipality of Selje in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The name is sometimes also written as Stadt, Statt or Stadlandet–not to be confused with the similar German word Stadt. The d in Stad is pronounced in Norwegian as a t. The Stad peninsula has a very harsh, windy climate. The highest wind speed in the country is often recorded at this promontory.

HMS Seadog (P216)
HMS Seadog was an S class submarine of the Royal Navy, and part of the Third Group built of that class. She was built by Cammell Laird & Co Limited, Birkenhead and launched on 11 June 1942. She previously had the pennant P216. So far she has been the only ship of the Royal Navy to bear the name Seadog. She spent most of her wartime career in the Far East, except for a brief spell in home waters off the Scandinavian coast, where she sank the German transport ship Oldenburg.

Kvamsøya
Kvamsøya is an island in the municipality of Sande in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located 6 kilometres east of Stad in Selje and about 7 kilometres west of Larsnes on the island of Gurskøy. The island is mountainous and has very few trees on it. Kvamsøya has an area of 7.5 square kilometres and 292 inhabitants (2001), all of whom live along the shoreline. The island has been inhabited for a very long time. There have been settlements found on the island dating back to the Bronze Age.
