Sunnfjord
Sunnfjord (English: the southern fjord - in contrast to Nordfjord) is a traditional district in Western Norway located in Sogn og Fjordane county. It includes the municipalities of Askvoll, Fjaler, Flora, Førde, Gaular, Jølster, Naustdal, and the southernmost parts of Bremanger. It covers an area of about 4,476 square kilometres and has a population (2006) of 41,156–about 32% of the population of Sogn og Fjordane county.

Førde Fjord
Førde Fjord is a fjord in Sogn og Fjordane county in the traditional district of Sunnfjord. It passes through the municipalities of Førde, Naustdal, Askvoll, and Flora. The fjord begins at the town of Førde, at the estuary of Jølstra river, which comes from the lake Jølstravatn. The water then travels west to the town of Florø where the 36-kilometre long fjord splits into the Brufjorden and Stavfjorden before reaching the sea.

Black Friday (1945)
On 9 February 1945 a force of Allied Bristol Beaufighter aircraft suffered heavy casualties during an unsuccessful attack on German destroyer Z33 and escorting vessels; the operation was labelled "Black Friday" by the surviving Allied aircrew. The German ships were sheltering in a strong defensive position in Førde Fjord, Norway, forcing the Allied aircraft to attack through heavy anti-aircraft fire.

Nausta
Nausta is a river in Sogn og Fjordane county in Norway. It runs through Naustdal, and is a small and medium sized salmon river. From the old bridge across the waterfall Naustdalsfossen you can watch salmon conquer the waterfall in powerful leaps — unless they are caught by rivaling anglers on the banks of the plunging pool. Hooking the fish is difficult — landing it a work of art. The local landowners will show you the best fishing places.

Gaula (Sogn og Fjordane)
Gaula is a river located mostly in the municipality of Gaular in Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. The river flows from the eastern part of Gaular across the whole municipality and empties into the Dalsfjorden at Osen near the village of Bygstad. The river flows through several lakes such as Viksdalsvatnet and Hestadfjorden before passing through the municipal center of Sande. The highway E39 crosses the river east of Sande.
