Hemnfjorden

The Hemnfjorden is a fjord in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The 25-kilometre long fjord flows south from the Trondheimsleia and forms the boundary between the municipalities of Hemne and Snillfjord. The Åstfjorden and Snillfjorden branch off the main Hemnfjorden to the east into Snillfjord. The village of Heim lies along the western shore of the fjord, and the municipal center of Hemne, Kyrksæterøra lies at the southern end of the fjord.

Hemnskjela

Hemnskjela (sometimes Hemnskjel) is an island in the municipality of Snillfjord in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the Trondheimsleia at the mouth of the Hemnfjorden, just 2 kilometres south of Sandstad, Hitra. The southern entrance to the Hitra Tunnel is located on the island, connecting to Sandstad on the neighboring island of Hitra. The Hemnskjel bridge connects the island to the mainland of Snillfjord. The Terningen Lighthouse lies about 3 kilometres west of the island.

Heim Church

Heim Church is a parish church in the municipality of Hemne in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. It is located in the village of Heim. The church is part of the Heim parish in the Orkdal deanery in the Diocese of Nidaros. The wooden church was built in 1883 to serve the people in the Heim area since the trip to the main Hemne Church in Kyrksæterøra was long and that church was full to capacity. The Heim Church was built by local builders for a cost of NOK 12,500.

Snillfjorden

The Snillfjorden is a fjord that branches off the main Hemnfjorden in the municipality of Snillfjord in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The 14-kilometre long fjord starts at Krokstadøra and empties into the Hemnfjorden at Ytre Snillfjord. There are small settlements along the north and south shores of the fjord, but they do not all have road connections. There is a road the follows the southern coastline for about half of the fjord, but the rest of the coastline is without roads.

Hitra Tunnel

The Hitra Tunnel is an undersea tunnel connecting the island municipality of Hitra to the mainland municipality of Snillfjord in Sør-Trøndelag county, Norway. The tunnel is 5,645 metres long and reaches a depth of 264 metres below sea level, making it the deepest tunnel in the world when it was built. The tunnel begins in Hitra on the island of Jøsnøya, just south of Sandstad. The tunnel then runs under the Trondheimsleia to the island of Hemnskjela in Snillfjord.
