The world's first organized skiing contest, won by Sondre Norheim, was held in Høydalsmo. Høydalsmo hosted the Norwegian cross-country skiing championships in 2002. The wrestler Gromguten hails from Høydalsmo.

Bandak
Bandak is a lake in the municipality of Kviteseid and Tokke in Telemark county, Norway. The lake, which is part of the Telemark Canal route, belongs to the Skien watershed. The river Tokke flows into the lake, and the outlet is via the river Straumane, to Kviteseidvatn. The Tokke Hydroelectric Plant utilizes the hydraulic head from Lake Vinje to Lake Bandak of ~394 meters to generate electricity. It is one of northern Europe's largest power plants with a production of some 440,000 kilowatts.

Eidsborg Stave Church
Eidsborg Stave Church (Norwegian: Eidsborg stavkyrkje or Eidsborg stavkirke) is a stave church in Tokke, Telemark county, Norway. Eidsborg Stave Church is one of the best preserved Norwegian stave churches. Eidsborg Stave Church is located next to the Vest-Telemark Museum in Eidsborg. The church is estimated to date to between 1250-1300. The church is dedicated to the traveller's patron, St. Nicholas of Bari. It was partly reconstructed in the 19th century. The chorus was demolished in 1826.

Eidsborg
Eidsborg is a village and parish in the municipality of Tokke in Telemark county, Norway. It is located at the northern side of the lake Bandak. The Eidsborg Stave Church, from the 13th century, is located in the parish, and the Vest-Telemark Museum is located nearby. At the museum is Vindlausloftet from about 1167, originally from the farm Vindlaus, the oldest secular tree building in Norway. For hundreds of years there was a quarry industry in Eidsborg.
