Pasni (city)

Pasni, is a medium-sized town and a fishing port in Gwadar District, Balochistan, Pakistan. Its population is around 33.000. It is located on the Makran coast on Arabian Sea about 300 km from Karachi. Administratively, Pasni is the headquarters of the Pasni sub-division of Gwadar district that includes Pasni and Ormara Tehsils (tehsil - county) as well as Astola Island which lies 40 km ESE of Pasni, in the Arabian Sea.

1945 Balochistan earthquake

The 1945 Balochistan Earthquake was an earthquake which occurred in British India at 05:26 PST on 28 November 1945 It was recorded with a magnitude of 8.1 on the Richter Scale. The Balochistan earthquake had its epicenter 97.6 kilometers South-Southwest of Pasni in Balochistan. Additionally, the quake caused a 40-foot tsunami that caused damage along the Makran coastal region and resulted in the deaths of more than 4,000 people.

PNS Makran

The Pakistan Naval Station Makran, known as PNS Makran, formerly known as Coastal Naval Air Station, Pasni, is a Naval air station and a military airport located in Coastal city of Pasni of Balochistan. It is one of the two active Naval Air Arm's bases (other one being PNS Mehran) and is currently headquarter to the Pakistan Navy's Alouette III and Lynx helicopters. The military site is consisted of 968 acres of airfield plus 15 acres of land is located Gorani, also owned by the Navy.
