La Jalca District

La Jalca is a district of the Chachapoyas Province in the Amazonas Region, Peru. Its capital is La Jalca, also known as Jalca, Jalca Grande or La Jalca Grande. It was the first Spanish foundation of the region. The current city of Chachapoyas was established here. Founded in 1538 as San Juan de la Frontera de los Chachapoyas ("Saint John of the Frontier of the Chachapoyas") Chachapoyas was later moved to its present location.

San Juan de Lopecancha District

San Juan de Lopecancha is a district of Luya Province in Peru. One of its major points of interest are the ruins of Chachapoya. Rodríguez de Mendoza Province

Rodríguez de Mendoza is a province of the Amazonas Region, Peru. It is located in the southeast part of the department of Amazonas. It borders on the west with the province of Chachapoyas and on the north, east and south with the department of San Martin. It was created by law 7626 on October 31, 1932 and its capital is Mendoza. The province has an enormous importance because of the fertility of its soils, its benign climate and the big rivers that pass through its territory.

Mendoza, Peru

Mendoza is a town in the San Nicolás District and capital of the Rodríguez de Mendoza Province, located in the South part East of the Amazonas Region, Peru. Mendoza is characterized by its tropical climate. La Jalca (Peru)

La Jalca was the first Spanish foundation of the region; therefore, the first head office of the current city of Chachapoyas was established there. There in 1538, he took the name of Saint John of the Border of the Chachapoyas, in honor to his holy boss. Also of this epoch they date the famous juanes, typical plate of the forest prepared and invented for the festivity and that, in contrast to the current juanes iquiteños were prepared with yucca.
