Chivay
Chivay is a town in the Colca valley, capital of the Caylloma province in the Arequipa region, Peru. Located at about 12,000 ft above sea level, it lies upstream of the renowned Colca Canyon. Sabancaya is an active 5,976-metre stratovolcano in the Andes of southern Peru, about 100 kilometres northwest of Arequipa. It is the most active volcano in Peru and is part of a 20-kilometre north-south chain of three major stratovolcanoes, including the extinct and eroded 6,025 metres Nevado Hualca Hualca at the northern end, the dormant 6,288 metres Nevado Ampato to the south, and Sabancaya in the middle.

Colca Canyon
Colca Canyon is a canyon of the Colca River in southern Peru, located about 100 miles (160 kilometers) northwest of Arequipa. It is Peru's third most-visited tourist destination with about 120,000 visitors annually. It is more than twice as deep as the Grand Canyon in the United States at 13,650 ft (4,160 m) depth, and is promoted as the "world's deepest canyon", although the canyon's walls are not as vertical as those of the Grand Canyon.
