Omia is a district of the province of Rodríguez de Mendoza, Peru. The foundation of the District of Omia, it goes back to the second half of the 19th century, according to documentary sources regarding the origin of the first peoples of our Province, Omia, it was founded on February 5, 1875, on having disintegrated of the District of Huayabamba, together with Totora, Pink Saint and San Nicolás.

Moyobamba

Moyobamba is the capital city of the San Martín Region in northern Peru. Called "Santiago of eight valleys of Moyobamba" or "Maynas capital". There are 70,000 inhabitants, according to the 2009 census. Some 3,500 species of orchids are native to the area, which has led to the city's nickname of The City of Orchids. The city is the capital of both Moyobamba Province and Moyobamba District. The name Moyobamba comes from the Quechua word "muyupampa" meaning "circular plain".
