The Arrábida Bridge is an arch bridge over the Douro River that connects Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia, in Portugal. It is the most downstream bridge across the Douro River, just a few kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean. At the time of its construction in 1963, the bridge had the largest concrete span of any bridge in the world. The total length of the tray is of 615m, having a width of 27m. The arch is 52m tall and the plate rises up to 70m above water level.

São Pedro da Afurada (or simply Afurada) is a locality in the city of Vila Nova de Gaia in Portugal. It has 3,442 inhabitants and a population density of 3,442 people per square kilometer (as of 2001). It is an urban parish(freguesia) in the city of Gaia. Afurada is located at the end of the Douro river, where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. It is a traditional fishing village and was created as such. Its patron saint is Saint Peter, hence the name São Pedro, the equivalent in Portuguese.
