Ust-Shchuger
Ust-Shchuger, formerly known as Ust-Shchugor (Усть-Щугор), is a rural locality in the Komi Republic, Russia, located at an elevation of 85 meters near the confluence of the Pechora and Shchuger Rivers. It holds the European low temperature record of −58.1 °C, recorded on December 31, 1978. The Shchugor River was once a minor route into Siberia. From its headwaters one could cross the Ural Mountains to reach the Severnaya Sosva River thereby allowing travel from the Pechora River to the Ob River.
