HMS Denbigh Castle (K696)

HMS Denbigh Castle (K696) was a Castle-class corvette of the United Kingdom's Royal Navy, one of 44 from the class built. Built by J. Lewis & Sons Ltd in Aberdeen, Scotland, HMS Denbigh Castle was launched on 5 August 1944 and then commissioned on 30 December 1944. The design of the Castle Class were a follow on from the Flower Class, built to be more adapt to Arctic operations. The ship was 252 ft long, 37 ft wide and a draft of 13 ft, with a displacement of over 1,060 tons.

Soviet submarine K-159

K-159 was a Project 627A "Kit" nuclear-powered submarine of the Soviet Northern Fleet. Her keel was laid down on 15 August 1962 at the Severodvinsk "Sevmash" Shipyard No. 402. She was launched on 6 June 1963, and commissioned on 9 October 1963.

HMS Bluebell (K80)

HMS Bluebell was a Flower-class corvette that served in the Royal Navy during World War II. Ordered from Fleming & Ferguson at Paisley on 27 July 1939, she was launched on 24 April 1940 and commissioned in July 1940. She served in the Atlantic, Mediterranean and Arctic, escorting several convoys to Russia, and also took park in the invasions of Sicily and France.

German submarine U-286

German submarine U-286 was a Type VIIC U-boat of the Nazi German Kriegsmarine during World War II. The submarine was laid down on 3 August 1942 at the Bremer Vulkan yard at Bremen-Vegesack as 'werk' 51. She was launched on 21 April 1943 and commissioned on 5 June under the command of Oberleutnant Willi Dietrich. She was sunk by British warships in April 1945 off Murmansk.
