Bolshoy Nimnyr

Bolshoy Nimnyr (Russian: Большой Нимныр, lit Greater Nimnyr) is an urban-type settlement in the Aldansky District of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Russia. In 2002, it had a population of 479 inhabitants. It was founded in 1929 as a service point on the road being built toward Yakutsk. It received settlement status in 1973. The ghost town of Maly Nimnyr (Lesser Nimnyr) is located nearby, this settlement was abandoned in 1997 due to the high cost of supplies and infrastructure.
