Chita River

Chita, locally also called Chitinka (Читинка), is a river in Zabaykalsky Krai in Russia. It is 160 km long, and is a tributary of the Ingoda River. The river has its sources in the Yablonovy Mountains, and then flows in a south-southwesterly direction, until it joins the Ingoda River in the city of Chita (which has its name from the river). The river is heavily polluted, particularly from runoff from the city of Chita.

Chita Northwest

Chita Northwest is an air base in Russia located 5 km northwest of Chita. It is also informally called "Cheryomushki". Located on Chita's north side, this base contains a number of hangars and tarmacs. It is not to be confused with Chita Kadala Airport 10 km to its southwest.

Chita Oblast

Chita Oblast was a federal subject of Russia in southeast Siberia, Russia. Its administrative center was the city of Chita. It had extensive international borders with China (998 km) and Mongolia (868 km) and internal borders with Irkutsk and Amur Oblasts, as well as with the Buryat and the Sakha Republics. Its area was 431,500 square kilometers . Population: 1,155,346; 1,377,975. The oblast was established on September 26, 1937.
