Aljaž Tower

The Aljaž Tower or Triglav Tower (Triglavski stolp) is a tower, a storm shelter and a triangulation point on the summit of Mount Triglav in Slovenia. Along with Triglav, it is a landmark of Slovenia and a symbol of Slovenehood. The tower was designed by Jakob Aljaž, a priest in the Upper Carniolan village of Dovje, who also had it erected. Today it is owned by the state, tended by the Ljubljana-Matica Mountaineering Club and stands on a parcel belonging to the Municipality of Bohinj.

Triglav Lakes Valley

The Triglav Lakes Valley (Slovene: Dolina Triglavskih jezer) is a rocky hanging valley in the Julian Alps in Slovenia, below the sheer sides of Mount Tičarica and Mount Zelnarica southwest of Triglav. The valley is also called the Seven Lakes Valley (Dolina sedmerih jezer), although there are ten and not seven lakes in the valley. It is above the tree line and is geologically Alpine karst; therefore it has also been termed the Sea of Stone Valley (Dolina kamnitega morja).

Kot (valley)

Kot is an alpine valley in the Julian Alps in the Upper Carniola region of Slovenia. Kot is one of three glacial alpine valleys near Mojstrana, the others being Vrata and Krma. It is the starting point for many routes through the Triglav National Park area and one of the easier and faster routes up Mount Triglav. It leads into the Radovna Valley.

Black Lake (Triglav Lakes Valley)

Black Lake is the lowest-lying lake in the Triglav Lakes Valley, part of the Julian Alps in Slovenia. It is named for its location in a basin in the middle of the forest, which stretches right to the edge of the Komarča rock face. Because of its relatively low elevation, it is the warmest of the Triglav Lakes. At the surface, its temperature in summer is 9 °C, whereas in winter it is 3 °C . It is 150 m long, 80 m wide, and up to 6 m deep..

Lake Bohinj

Lake Bohinj, covering 318 hectares, is the largest permanent lake in Slovenia. It is located within the Bohinj Valley of the Julian Alps, in the northwestern Upper Carniola region, and part of Triglav National Park.
