Central Sava Valley

The Central Sava Valley is a region along the Sava in central Slovenia. The region consists of five municipalities: Zagorje ob Savi, Trbovlje, Hrastnik, Litija, and Šmartno pri Litiji. Several coal mines operated in the Central Sava Valley, although all except Rudnik Trbovlje-Hrastnik are now defunct. It is surrounded by the Sava Hills, with Kum on the right side of the Sava and Black Peak on Mount Čemšenik at the left side of the Sava, as its highest peaks.

Tone Okrogar Primary School

The Tone Okrogar Primary School (Osnovna šola Toneta Okrogarja) is a primary school located in Zagorje ob Savi, Slovenia and founded in 1860. It has two subsidiary school located in Kisovec and Šentlambert. It hosts the "Nicholas fair" (Miklavžev sejem)" and releases the school news titled "New steps" (Novi koraki) yearly. Its best known as the school of Janez Drnovšek, former president of Slovenia, born in Kisovec.

Lihtenberk Castle

Lihtenberk Castle is a 13th century castle ruin located in the municipality of Šmartno pri Litiji in central Slovenia, directly adjacent to the later Bogenšperk Castle. It is best known for a minor association with the 17th-century historian Johann Weikhard von Valvasor, who owned the ruin and styled himself (among other things) "von Lichtenberg."

Medija Castle

Medija Castle (Slovene: Medijski grad, Grad Medija, German: Schloss Gallenegg) is a castle ruin located in the western part of the settlement of Izlake in central Slovenia. The castle and its stables were destroyed by the Yugoslav Partisans during World War II. The castle chapel was later restored and now serves as a venue for plays, concerts, and other cultural events, as well as weddings.
