Salt Mud Slide
The Salt Mud Slide (Slovene: plaz Slano Blato) is a periodic landslide in Slovenia that is triggered approximately once a century. The landslide is located below Mount Čaven and Little Mountain next to the Platna mountain pasture. It is moving along Grajšček Creek (which also originates in the landslide itself) toward the settlement of Lokavec near Ajdovščina. It is 1,010 to 1,300 m long and 60 to 250 m wide, covering approximately 15 ha between the elevations of 360 and 660 m.

Ninth Battle of the Isonzo
The Ninth Battle of the Isonzo was an Italian offensive against Austria-Hungary in the course World War I. Including a triumvirate of battles launched after the Italians' successful seizure of Gorizia in August 1916 to extend their bridgehead to the left of the town, it ended in further failure for the Italian Chief of Staff Luigi Cadorna. The battle started with an attack on Vrtojba and the northern and central areas of the Karst Plateau.

Kostanjevica Monastery
Kostanjevica Monastery is a Franciscan monastery in Pristava near Nova Gorica, Slovenia. The locals frequently refer to it simply as Kapela (meaning The Chapel in Slovene). The monastery with the Church of the Annunciation of Our Lady stands on a 143 metre hill dividing the town of Nova Gorica and the suburb of Pristava. It is located just some 200 meters from the border with Italy. It is famous as the burial place of Charles X of France and his family.
