Mossel Bay

Mossel Bay (Afrikaans Mosselbaai) is a harbour town of about 130,000 people on the Southern Cape of South Africa. It is an important tourism and farming region of the Western Cape Province. Mossel Bay lies 400 kilometres east of the country's seat of parliament, Cape Town (which is also the capital city of the Western Cape Province), and 400 km west of Port Elizabeth, the largest city in the Eastern Cape Province.

Mossel Bay Yacht and Boat Club, / Mosselbaai Seiljag- en Bootklub (Afrikaans), established in 1956, is a yacht club in South Africa. It is located in the harbour city of Mossel Bay on the Garden Route in the Western Cape Province. The club is multi-aquatic for the disciplines of yachting (keelboat, multihull and dinghies), boating (motor yacht/boat leisure and deep sea angling), diving, rowing, development of the youth and social.

Pinnacle Point

Pinnacle Point is a small promontory immediately south of Mossel Bay, a town on the southern coast of South Africa. Excavations since the year 2000 of a series of caves at Pinnacle Point have revealed occupation by Middle Stone Age people between 170,000 and 40,000 years ago.

Groot Brak Rivier

Groot Brak Rivier is a settlement in Eden District Municipality in the Western Cape province of South Africa. This is a historic village built around the Great Brak River Lagoon, about 27 km east of Mossel Bay’s CBD. It was founded by the Searle family of Surrey, England — of which the elder brother, Richard (originally a labourer), emigrated to South Africa under a Government-sponsored scheme in 1845. He arrived in Great Brak River to work for the Central Road Board in 1850.

Wolwedans Dam

Wolwedans Dam is a dam in South Africa on the Great Brak River near Mossel Bay, Western Cape, South Africa. It was established in 1990. The dam is the main source of water for the municipality of Mossel Bay as well as the gas-to-liquids refinery PetroSA.
