Yeongwol County

Yeongwol County (Yeongwol-gun) is a county in Gangwon Province, South Korea. It is well known as the place where King Danjong, the sixth king of Joseon Dynasty, was exiled to, when he was forced to abdicate by his uncle, who became Sejo of Joseon. It is also where he is buried after he was murdered in 1457, following the attempts by Six martyred ministers to restore him to power, when he was perceived to be a continuing threat to the rule of his uncle.

Guinsa

Guinsa, (Temple of Salvation and Kindness) in the Yeonhwa area of the Sobaek Mountains located near Danyang in Chungcheongbuk-do, South Korea, is the headquarters of the Cheontae school of Korean Buddhism. Guinsa is the administrative center of over 140 sub-temples and hermitages of the Cheontae sect.

Jecheon

Jecheon is a city in Chungcheongbuk-do (province), South Korea. The city is a major railway junction (transportation mecca), served by the Jungang, Chungbuk and Taebaek Lines. Jecheon has scenic surroundings and several tourist spots like the Uirimji Reservoir, Cheongpung Lake and Cheongpung Cultural Properties Complex. It is also the home of Semyung University. The city's name derives from the Korean words Je(堤), which means Dam, and cheon(川) which means River.
