Woljeongsa

Woljeongsa is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism, located on the eastern slopes of Odaesan in Pyeongchang County, Gangwon Province, South Korea. Woljeongsa was founded in 643 by the Silla monk Jajang. Burned down and rebuilt a number of times, the last disaster was during the Korean War (1950–1953), when about ten buildings were burnt down by the Korean Army because it had become a refuge for the rebel forces.

Alpensia Resort

The Alpensia Resort is a ski resort and a tourist attraction. It is located on the territory of the township of Daegwallyeong-myeon, in the county of Pyeongchang. Alpensia has 6 slopes for skiing and snowboarding, with runs up to 1.4 km long, for beginners and advanced skiers, and an area reserved for snowboarders. The resort is open year-round. The Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium is located within the station and will be the location of the ski jumping events of the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium

Alpensia Ski Jumping Stadium (알펜시아 스키점프 경기장) is a ski jumping hill in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Located in Alpensia Resort, originally was to be to the place of the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2018 Winter Olympics, but continues to schedules the ski jumping and the ski jumping part of the nordic combined events. The stadium holds a maximum of 26,000 spectators, and was built in 2008, for the games the stadium will be expanded to 60,000 seats.

Alpensia Sliding Centre

The Alpensia Sliding Centre (알펜시아 슬라이딩 센터) is a bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track that will be located in Alpensia Resort, South Korea, located in the district of Pyeongchang. This venue will host the bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton events for the 2018 Winter Olympics. It will accommodate 11,000 spectators. It is planned to host World Cup events in 2017 as test events for the Olympics.

Odaesan

Odaesan, also known as Mount Odaesan or Mount Odae, is a South Korean mountain peak in Gangwon, South Korea, standing at the junction of the districts of Gangneung, Pyeongchang, and Hongcheon. At an elevation of 1,563 m it is the centerpiece of Odaesan National Park. The name "Odaesan" means "mountain of five plains," a reference to the five high plains that stand between its five peaks.
