Mungyeong Saejae
Mungyeong Saejae is a mountain pass in central South Korea. It lies on Joryeong Mountain between the main peak (1017 m) and Sinseon Peak (967 m). The pass itself rises to 642 metres above sea level. Mungyeong Saejae connects Mungyeong City, North Gyeongsang province with Goesan County in North Chungcheong province. Water flowing down from the Mungyeong side of the pass eventually flows into the Nakdong River and meets the Sea of Japan (East Sea) at Busan.

Woraksan
Woraksan, or Worak Mountain, is a major mountain of the Sobaek mountain range. Its highest peak is 1,094 m above sea level. It forms part of the boundary between North Chungcheong and North Gyeongsang provinces. Its slopes contain portions of Mungyeong city in North Gyeongsang, as well as Danyang County, Jecheon City, and Chungju City in North Chungcheong. Woraksan National Park takes up 28% of the land in Danyang County.

Mungyeong Massacre
The Mungyeong Massacre was a massacre conducted by 2nd and 3rd platoon, 7th company, 3rd battalion, 25th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Infantry Division of the South Korean Army on 24 December 1949 of 86 to 88 unarmed citizens in Mungyeong, North Gyeongsang district of South Korea, all of whom were civilians and a majority of whom were children and elderly people. The victims included 32 children. The victims were massacred because they were Communist supporters or collaborators.
