Haenam County

Haenam (Haenam-gun) is a county in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The capital of Haenam-gun is Haenam-up (Haenam town). The economy of the county is based mainly on agriculture, with rice and daikon radish being the two most common crops.

Modo, Jindo

Modo Island is a small island in Jindo County, South Jeolla province, South Korea, just off the southwest corner of the Korean peninsula. It is located to the south-east of Jindo Island and is about 1.1 km long and 300 meters wide. The tide-related sea level variations result in a local phenomenon when a land pass 2.9 km long and 10–40 meters wide opens for an hour between Modo and Jindo islands. The event occurs approximately twice a year, around April-June.
