Asiana Airlines Flight 733

Asiana Air Flight 733 (OZ733, AAR733) was an Asiana Airlines passenger flight between Seoul, South Korea and Mokpo that crashed into Mt. Ungeo at 800 feet on July 26, 1993. The aircraft, a Boeing 737-5L9 with registration number HL7229, failed to land twice in bad weather and crashed on the third attempt, causing the deaths of 66 passengers and 2 crew; there were 48 survivors.

Yeongsan River

The Yeongsan River is a river in south-western South Korea. It has a length of 115.5 km, and covers an area of 3,371 km2. Yeongsan River starts from the Yongchubong Peak located in Yong-myeon, Damyang County, South Jeolla Province. It runs through Damyang, Naju, Yeongam and other regions and eventually flows into the Yellow Sea at Mokpo through the estuary bank.

Hauido

Haui-do is an island off the South Korean coast in the Yellow Sea, part of Sinan County in Jeollanam-do province. Its name means 'a lotus floating on water' and although it is an island by name, it actually comprises 56 separate islands, only nine of which are inhabited. Approximately 57 kilometers to shore, it has an area of 14.46 km² and is home to more than 1,900 people. It was the birthplace of former South Korean president Kim Dae-jung.

Sinan County (Sinan-gun) is a county in the province of Jeollanam-do, South Korea. The county consists of 111 inhabited islands and 719 uninhabited islands. The number of islands in this county accounts for 25% of all islands in South Korea. Big islands among them are Anjwado (45.2㎢), Aphaedo (44.3㎢), Bigeumdo (43.1㎢), Dochodo (40.3㎢), Imjado (43.2㎢), Amtaedo (38.7㎢), Jeungdo (37.2㎢), Jangsando (24.3㎢), Haeuido (16.1㎢), and Heuksando (19.7㎢).
