Dongola

Dongola, also spelled Dunqulah, and formerly known as Al 'Urdi, is the capital of the state of Northern in Sudan, on the banks of the Nile. It should not be confused with Old Dongola, an ancient city located 80 km upstream on the opposite bank. The town is home to the University of Dongola, a public university.

Argo Island

Tabo (Nubia)

Tabo is an archaeological mound site in Nubia, Sudan, in what was at one time the Kingdom of Kush. It is located at the southern end of the Argo Island in the Nile, just south of Kerma, approximately 40 kilometres north of Dongola. It draws its name from a small village of the same, which is located near the ruins. Here at Tabo, there was a well preserved Amun temple. It is 75.6 metres long and 31 metres wide. The first pylon is 40 metres wide, the second 35.5 metres .
