Battle of Stegeborg

The Battle of Stegeborg took place on a meadow near Stegeborg Castle, Sweden on September 18, 1598. It is part of the so-called War against Sigismund, in turn part of the Polish-Swedish Wars. King of Poland and Sweden, Sigismund, tried to put down a rebellion by Duke Charles. The army of King Sigismund III Vasa and Prince Charles met the Stegeborg.

Å, Sweden

Å is a small village and a parish in Norrköping Municipality, Östergötland County, Sweden. It has a population of about 200. There are also at least 12 other places in Sweden called Å, most of them only a farm or a few houses. Å is pronounced "Aw", or phonetically [o:]. Å, which means stream or small river, is a contender for the title of shortest place-name in the world — although other places named Å as well as Ö and Y can make the same claim.

Capella Ecumenica

Capella Ecumenica Sanctæ Annæ in scopulis is a chapel in the archipelago of S:t Anna, in the province of Östergötland in Sweden. The chapel on Västra Gärsholmen is the work of Hilding Bielkhammar, born in the parish of St Anna. As an 18 year old boy he visited Stockholm 1925 to attend the big Ecumenical meeting, which was led by at that time archbishop Nathan Söderblom. At the meeting Hilding Bielkhammar heard the Lords Prayer being held in over 50 languages.

Vikbolandet

Vikbolandet is a large peninsula east of Norrköping city in Östergötland, Sweden. The area is limited by Bråviken to the north, Slätbaken to the south and the Baltic sea to the east. The biggest population center is Östra Husby with a population of 788, followed by Ljunga (pop 643) and Arkösund (pop 149) on the baltic sea coast at the far east of the peninsula.
