Fornsigtuna

Sigtuna Municipality

Sigtuna Municipality (Sigtuna kommun) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Märsta. The municipality is a part of Metropolitan Stockholm. The municipality consists of a lot of former local government units and was formed in 1971. It got its name from the small, but very old, City of Sigtuna, but the seat was placed in the much larger modern town of Märsta. Norrtil Runestones

The Norrtil Runestones are two monuments listed in Rundata as U 410 and U 411, standing at Norrtil, Saint Olovs parish, Uppland, Sweden. Both runestones were erected at the second part of 11th century along the ancient road leading from Sigtuna to already existed at that time settlement of Til.

Kvistaberg Observatory

The Kvistaberg Observatory (Kvistabergs observatorium) is an observatory in Sweden belonging to the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Uppsala University and located between Uppsala and Stockholm, at almost equal distance from both cities. The observatory was the result of a donation in 1944 from Nils Tamm, an artist who had studied astronomy in his youth under Nils Christoffer Dunér and Östen Bergstrand in Uppsala and remained an avid amateur astronomer throughout his life.
