Saane/Sarine

Seeland District in the Canton of Bern was created on 1 January 2010. It is part of the Seeland administrative region. It contains 45 municipalities with an area of 334.14 km and a population of 68,962.

Lobsigensee

Lobsigensee is a lake at Lobsigen in the municipality of Seedorf, Berne, Switzerland. Its surface area is 1.73 ha. On the northwestern shore there are remains of a neolithic settlement which is now part of the Prehistoric Pile dwellings around the Alps, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Lobsigensee UNESCO site is located on the south-western shore of the lake of the same name. Based on several finds, the site has been dated to the second half of the 4th millennium BC.
