It expands from Lenk to Boltigen, in a more or less south-north direction, and from there to the valley exit at Wimmis near Spiez it takes a west-east orientation. It comprises the municipalities of Lenk, St. Stephan, Zweisimmen, Boltigen, Oberwil, Därstetten, Erlenbach, Diemtigen and Wimmis. The Simme flows through the valley.

Roy Emerson Arena
Roy Emerson Arena is a tennis stadium located in Gstaad, Switzerland. The stadium is the centerpiece of the Allianz Suisse Open Gstaad, an ATP Tour event. The stadium has a capacity of 6,000 spectators. It is named in honor of Roy Emerson, 12-time Grand Slam champion, and winner of the Gstaad tournament in 1969.

The Swiss Open (officially Crédit Agricole Suisse Open Gstaad) is a tennis tournament held in Gstaad, Switzerland. Held since 1915, the tournament is played on outdoor clay courts. Between 1970 and 1989 it was an event of the Grand Prix tennis circuit and is now a part of the ATP Tour schedule.
