Sense District
Sense District is one of the seven administrative district of the canton of Fribourg in Switzerland, and the only completely German-speaking one. It is named for the Sense River, which forms the majority of its eastern border with the canton of Bern.

Fribourg Cathedral
The Cathedral of St. Nicolas in Fribourg, built in the Gothic style, dominates the center of the medieval town of Fribourg. It is built on a rocky outcrop 50 metres above the river Sarine (Saane). The main body of the church was started in 1283 and completed by 1430. The tower was completed in 1490. It is 76 metres tall and houses 11 bells. It also features a rose window above the main portal with stained glass by Harrison Weltlich (1988).

Lac de Pérolles
Lac de Pérolles, a lake formed by Maigrauge Dam, is a reservoir on the Saane/Sarine river at Fribourg, in western Switzerland. Its surface area is 0.35 square kilometres . The dam was built in 1872, and its height was increased by 2.5 metres in 1910. The watershed (or catchment) is 1,250 square kilometres . The Maigrauge Dam has a gated spillway.

Üechtland
The Üechtland is a region in western Switzerland, where the cities of Berne and Fribourg are located. The name for the region is obsolete; today, it is only used to distinguish Fribourg (German: Freiburg im Üechtland) from Freiburg (or Freiburg im Breisgau) in Germany.
