Villa Diodati

The Villa Diodati is a manor in Cologny close to Lake Geneva. It is most famous for having been the summer residence of Lord Byron, Mary Shelley, Percy Shelley, John Polidori and others in 1816, where the basis for the classical horror stories Frankenstein and The Vampyre was laid. Originally called the Villa Belle Rive, Byron named it the Villa Diodati after the family that owned it.

Bodmer Library

The Bibliotheca Bodmeriana (or Bodmer Library) is located in Cologny, Switzerland just outside Geneva. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance. The library was established by Martin Bodmer and is famous as the home of the Bodmer Papyri. Some of these papyri are among the oldest remaining copies of the New Testament. Some manuscripts are written in Greek, others in Coptic (e.g. Papyrus Bodmer III). The first of the manuscripts was purchased in 1956 (Papyrus Bodmer II — P).

International School of Geneva

The International School of Geneva, also known as Ecolint, is a private international school based in Geneva, Switzerland. It is the oldest currently operating International School in the world. The International Baccalaureate (IB) programme, which most English-speaking students at the school follow, was created at the Grande Boissière campus. It is a bilingual school, with instruction in both French and English. Ecolint's current Director General is Mrs Vicky Tuck.

Jet d'Eau

The Jet d'Eau is a large fountain in Geneva, Switzerland, and is one of the city's most famous landmarks, being featured on the city's official tourism web site and on the official logo for Geneva's hosting of the 2008 UEFA Championships. It is also one of the largest fountains in the world. Situated at the point where Lake Geneva empties into the Rhone River, it is visible throughout the city and from the air, even when flying over Geneva at an altitude of 10 km (33,000 ft).

Palais Wilson

The Palais Wilson in Geneva, Switzerland, is the current headquarters of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. It was also the headquarters of the League of Nations until that body moved its premises to the Palais des Nations, which was constructed between 1929 and 1938, also in Geneva. It is named after U.S. President Woodrow Wilson, who was instrumental to the foundation of the League of Nations. The treaty bodies also hold their sessions in the Palais Wilson.
