Lago di Lei
Lago di Lei is a reservoir in the Valle di Lei. The lake is almost entirely located in Italy, but the barrage was built on territory later assigned to Switzerland. The dam is operated by Kraftwerke Hinterrhein. The waters of the lake are among only a few of the waters in Italian territory which end up in the North Sea, being part of the Rhine's drainage basin.

Val Ferrera
The Ferrera Valley is a valley in the Swiss canton of Graubünden between Shams and Avers. It is 10 km long and is drained by the Avers Rhine. The only villages in the valley are Innerferrera and Ausserferrera. Administratively, the municipality of Ferrera coincides with the valley. In the Early Modern period, the Ferrera valley was known for its iron ore. The mining industry provided its inhabitants with a livelihood.

Juf is a village in the municipality of Avers in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland. At 2,126 metres above sea level, it is the highest village with permanent residents in Switzerland and in Europe. Juf has a population of about 24 inhabitants divided over 6 families in a concentrated settlement. They were 20 in 1991 and 30 in 2001. The first inhabitants were immigrant Walser who arrived in 1292.
