Col de Bretolet
The Col de Bretolet is a mountain pass in the Swiss Alps in the canton of Valais, close to the border between Switzerland and the French department of Haute-Savoie. It lies above the village of Champéry at an altitude of 1923 m asl within a 567 ha nature reserve (IUCN management category IV) set aside for the protection and study of migratory birds. It contains a bird ringing station operated by the Sempach Bird Observatory (Swiss Ornithological Institute).

Lac de la Vogealle
Lac de la Vogealle is a lake in Haute-Savoie, France. It is located below the Dents Blanches and nearby the Cirque de Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval at an elevation of 2001 m. La Chavanette
Le Pas de Chavanette, also known as the "Mur Suisse" or "Swiss Wall", is a particularly steep and difficult piste in the Portes du Soleil ski area, on the border between France and Switzerland. It can be reached from the French resort of Avoriaz and from the Swiss towns of Les Crosets and Champéry. Effectively, one starts the run standing on the Swiss-French border, plunging down the Swiss side of the mountain towards Les Crosets.

Les Crosets
At 1,670 metres, Les Crosets is the resort of highest altitude among those on the Swiss side of the Portes du Soleil. It is, however, one of the smallest as well. It is easily reached by skis from Chatel and Avoriaz. It has a microclimate and allows splendid views of the Dents Du Midi. The famous Swiss wall (an orange mogul run) and Off Piste are accessible from Les Crosets.

2010 European Curling Championships
The 2010 Le Gruyère European Curling Championships were held in Champéry, Switzerland from December 3–11, 2010. The Group C matches took place from September 24–28 at the Greenacres Ice Rink in Howwood, Scotland. The winners of the Group C matches advanced to the Group B playoffs in Monthey. The Group A round robin matches took place from December 4–11 at the Palladium de Champéry in Champéry, while the Group B matches took place at the Verney Arena in Monthey.
