Pas de Cheville

The Pas de Cheville (el. 2038 m. ) (also Col de Cheville) is a high mountain pass across the western Bernese Alps, connecting Gryon in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland and Derborence in the canton of Valais. The pass lies between Les Diablerets on the north and Tête à Pierre Grept, Grand Muveran on the south .

Diablerets Glacier

The Diablerets Glacier (French: Glacier des Diablerets) is a glacier situated on the summit of Les Diablerets in the Bernese Alps. It covers an area of approximatively 1 km. The Diablerets Glacier is often confused with the nearby much larger and popular Tsanfleuron Glacier.

Derborence

Derborence is a hamlet in the municipality of Conthey, in the canton of Valais, in Switzerland. It is located at 1,450 metres in an isolated valley on the south side of the Bernese Alps and is not permanently inhabited. Derborence is completely surrounded by mountains: The Diablerets (highest) on the north, Haut de Cry on the south and Mont Gond on the east. Derborence can be reached by a road from Conthey, or by foot from Gryon, using the Pas de Cheville.

Lac de Derborence

Lac de Derborence is a mountain lake in the municipality of Conthey, Valais, Switzerland, located near the hamlet of Derborence. It was formed after rockfalls on 24 September 1714 and 23 June 1749. In 1749, an estimated 50 mio m³ of rocks blocked the course of the Derbonne river and lead to the formation of the lake.

Ovronnaz

Ovronnaz is a village located in the canton of Valais, Switzerland. It lies in the municipality of Leytron, close to Martigny. The village is located on the south side of the Bernese Alps, on a terrace above the Rhone river, at an altitude of 1,330 metres. The region is surrounded by the summits of Grand Chavalard, Petit and Grand Muveran and Haut de Cry. Ovronnaz is both a small ski resort and a spa resort.
