Wat Aranyawiwake

Wat Aranyawiwake, also known as Wat Ban Pong is a monastery in the Thai Forest Tradition of the Theravada lineage of Buddhism located in Mae Taeng, Chiang Mai Province, northern Thailand. Phra Ajahn Plien Panyapatipo is the current abbot of Wat Aranyawiwake, where he resided since 1966. Wat Aranyawiwake was established and named by Luang Pho Mun Bhuridatta, the “father” of the current tradition of forest meditation monastics.

Northern Thailand

Elephant Nature Park

Elephant Nature Park is a 800-hectare sanctuary and rescue centre for elephants in the Northern Thailand, Chiang Mai Province, approximately 60 kilometres from Chiang Mai City. Founded in the 1990s, the project's aim is to provide sanctuary for distressed elephants from all over Thailand.
