Maha Sarakham Province

Maha Sarakham (Thai: มหาสารคาม; also spelled Mahasarakham) is one of the provinces (changwat) of Thailand, located in the northeastern region of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Kalasin, Roi Et, Surin, Buriram and Khon Kaen. The province's capital is the town of Maha Sarakham. It is the home of Mahasarakham University, the largest university in the Northeast of Thailand in terms of students (37,342), and Rajabhat Mahasarakham University.

Maha Sarakham

Maha Sarakham is the capital city of Maha Sarakham Province in Thailand's Northeastern region. Sarakham, as it is known to its inhabitants, is located in a rice-growing area on the southern Korat plain, straddling the Chi River. The city has long been known as a regional education centre, the so-called Taksila of Isan (taking this name from the ancient Hindu centre of learning). It is home to six colleges, as well as Maha Sarakham University (MSU) and Maha Sarakham Rajabhat University.

Mahasarakham University

Mahasarakham University is a Public University situated in Maha Sarakham Province known as the Center of Education in the Isan (northeast) region of Thailand. This university is Thailand’s 22nd fastest growing government university. It has two campuses, the Old Campus located at the downtown of the city and the New Campus located at Khamriang in the north-west of the city. MSU is the only Thai university that offers M. Sc. and Ph.D. in Paleontology and Bachelor of Arts in Khmer Language.
