Bueng Boraphet

Bueng Boraphet is the largest freshwater swamp and lake in central Thailand. It covers an area of 224 km² east of Nakhon Sawan, south of the Nan River close to its confluence with the Ping River. Originally the area was covered by a large swamp, which was flooded in 1930 with the building of a dam to improve fishing. This is the only known site for the White-eyed River Martin which used to winter there, but has not been seen since 1980, and may be extinct.

Nakhon Sawan

Nakhon Sawan is a city in Thailand, the name literally means "Heavenly City". The city is the capital of Nakhon Sawan Province, and covers the complete subdistrict Pak Nam Pho and parts of Khwae Yai, Nakhon Sawan Tok, Nakhon Sawan Ok and Wat Sai, all of Mueang Nakhon Sawan district. As of 2006 it has a population of 93,141.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Nakhon Sawan

The Diocese of Nakhon Sawan (Dioecesis Nakhonsauanensis, Thai: สังฆมณฑลนครสวรรค์) is located in central Thailand. It is a suffragan diocese of the archdiocese of Bangkok. The diocese covers an area of 93,547 km², covering 13 provinces - Chainat, Kamphaeng Phet, Lopburi, Nakhon Sawan, Saraburi, Sukhothai, Tak, Uthai Thani, Uttaradit. As of 2001, of the 8.2 million citizen 9,237 are member of the Catholic Church. It is divided into 28 parishes, having 27 priests altogether.
