Ban Tun

Ban Tun is a village and tambon (subdistrict) of Mueang Phayao District, in Phayao Province, Thailand. In 2005 it had a total population of 5098 people. Doi Luang, the highest point of the Phi Pan Nam Range is located at the western end of the subdistrict.

Phayao Lake

The Phayao lake is an artificial lake in northern Thailand. It covers an area of 2.3 km² at an altitude of 380 m. The lake has a mean depth of 1.7 m. The town Phayao is located on the southeast corner of the lake. The lake is fed by the Ing River, which empties to the north, and to a lesser degree by the Tam River, which empties into the south of the lake. At the east the lake empties into the Ing River, which then flows to the Mekong.

Phayao Province

Phayao is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from east clockwise) Nan, Phrae, Lampang and Chiang Rai. In the north-east it borders Xaignabouli of Laos.

Phayao

Phayao is a town in northern Thailand, capital of the Phayao Province. The town is divided into the subdistricts of Mae Tam and Wiang, tambon of Mueang Phayao district. As of 2005 it has a population of 19,118. The town is located the shore of the picturesque Phayao lake. The town dates back to the semi-independent city-state, founded in the 12th century.
