Wat Pah Nanachat

Wat Pah Nanachat (Thai: วัดป่านานาชาติ, International Forest Monastery) is situated in a small forest in north-east Thailand about fifteen kilometres from the city of Ubon Rachathani. The late Ajahn Chah established the monastery in 1975 to serve as a training community for non-Thais along traditional monastic lines. Its monks, novices and postulants include a wide range of nationalities. The primary language of communication and instruction is English.

Ubon Ratchathani Province

Ubon Ratchathani (often in short Ubon, Thai: อุบลราชธานี) is one of the north-eastern provinces (changwat) of Thailand, and the country's easternmost. Ubon is about 600 km away from Bangkok. Neighboring Provinces are (from west clockwise) Sisaket, Yasothon and Amnat Charoen. To the north and east it borders Salavan and Champasak of Laos, to the south Preah Vihear of Cambodia.

Roman Catholic Diocese of Ubon Ratchathani

The Diocese of Ubon Ratchathani (Dioecesis Ubonratchathaniensis, Thai: สังฆมณฑลอุบลราชธานี) is located in the north-east of Thailand. It is a suffragan diocese of the archdiocese of Thare and Nonseng. The diocese covers an area of 53,917 km², covering seven provinces of Thailand - Amnat Charoen, Maha Sarakham, Roi Et, Sisaket, Surin, Ubon Ratchathani and Yasothon. As of 2001, of the 7.7 million citizen 24,760 are member of the Catholic Church.

Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base

For the civil use of the facility after July 1974, see Ubon Ratchathani Airport Ubon Royal Thai Air Force Base is a Royal Thai Air Force facility and is the home of Wing 21 of the RTAF 2nd Air Division. It is located in East-Central Thailand, near the city of Ubon Ratchathani, in the Ubon Ratchathani Province. It is approximately 305 miles (488 kilometers) North-East of Bangkok. The Laotian border is about 40 miles (60 kilometers) directly East.
