Maritime Region

Maritime is the southernmost of Togo's five regions, with the country's only shoreline on the Bight of Benin. Lomé serves as both the regional and national capital. It is the smallest region in terms of area, but it has the largest population. Other major cities in the Maritime region include Tsévié and Aného. Maritime is divided into the prefectures of Avé, Golfe, Lacs, Lomé, Vo, Yoto, and Zio. Maritime is located south of Plateaux Region.

Lake Togo

Lake Togo is the largest part of a lagoon in Togo, separated from the head by a narrow coastal strip. It is shallow and a popular location for water sports. Towns on the lake's shore include Agbodrafo and Togoville. The name is derived from to, which means "water", and go, which means "edge" or "shore".

Ahepe

Ahepe is a village in the south east of Togo. Ahepe literally means "the house of Ahe". It is the largest village of Togo. Created around 1732, it is located about 63 km from Lomé, the political capital of Togo. Ahepe is a part of the district of Yoto, at 11 km from Tabligbo the capital of this district. It is  km from Zafi to the west, 6 km from Kouve to the north, and 9 km from Tchekpo. Tabligbo lies to the east.

Togoville

Togoville is a town in southern Togo, lying on the northern shore of Lake Togo. It was originally known as Togo. The country took its name from the town of Togoville when Gustav Nachtigal signed a treaty with the town's chief, Mlapa III, in 1884, from which Germany claimed overlordship over what became Togo.
