Ashdon, is a village and civil parish in Essex, England. It is located about 6 km northeast of Saffron Walden and is 37 km northwest from the county town of Chelmsford. The village is in the district of Uttlesford and the parliamentary constituency of Saffron Walden. The village has its own Parish Council.

RAF Little Walden

RAF Station Little Walden (also known as Hadstock) is a former World War II airfield in Essex, England. The airfield is located approximately 3 miles north-northeast of Saffron Walden; about 38 miles north-northeast of London Opened in 1944, it was used by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces. During the war it was used primarily as a bomber and fighter combat airfield. After the war it was used for surplus military storage before being closed in 1958.

Sewards End

Sewards End is a village and civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. The village is about one mile east of Saffron Walden and is set in the rolling countryside of north west Essex. The population was 492 in 2001. There are (in 2012) 175 houses, an increase of 20 houses since 1995. The village became a civil parish on April 1, 2004.

Humphrey de Bohun, 3rd Earl of Hereford

Humphrey (VI) de Bohun (c. 1249 – 31 December 1298), 3rd Earl of Hereford and 2nd Earl of Essex, was an English nobleman known primarily for his opposition to King Edward I over the Confirmatio Cartarum. He was also an active participant in the Welsh Wars and maintained for several years a private feud with the earl of Gloucester. His father, Humphrey (V) de Bohun, fought on the side of the rebellious barons in the Barons' War.
