RAF Chipping Ongar

Royal Air Force Station Chipping Ongar or more simply RAF Chipping Ongar is a former Royal Air Force station in Essex, England. The airfield is located approximately 2 miles northeast of Chipping Ongar; about 20 miles northeast of London Opened in 1943, it was used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). During the war it was used primarily as a bomber airfield.

Ongar Rural District

Ongar Rural District was a local government district in Essex, England from 1894 to 1955. It included the small town of Chipping Ongar and the parishes surrounding it. It was abolished in 1955 and combined with part of Epping Rural District to create Epping and Ongar Rural District.

Kelvedon Hatch

Kelvedon Hatch is a village and civil parish in the Borough of Brentwood in south Essex, England. It is situated just north of Pilgrims Hatch, approximately 4 miles to the north of Brentwood and is surrounded by Metropolitan Green Belt. The village today is no longer a rural backwater with a large proportion of its population commuting to work elsewhere. It has a population of 2,563.
