Metheringham Windmill

Metheringham Windmill, locally known as The Old Meg Flour Mill, was a six-storeyed, six-sailed, and tarred slender Lincolnshire type windmill with the typical white onion-shaped cap with fantail, built in 1867 to be used to grind flour from grain. Located on a paddock at the eponymous village in North Kesteven south of Lincoln it is one of the many tall brick-tower mills of Lincolnshire with stage, now disused.

Sleaford Rural District

Sleaford was a rural district in Lincolnshire, Parts of Kesteven, England, from 1894 to 1931. It was created by the Local Government Act 1894 based on the Sleaford rural sanitary district. In 1931, under a County Review Order, it was abolished, with a small part going to West Kesteven Rural District, the parishes of Leadenham, Welbourn and Wellingore going to North Kesteven Rural District, and the larger part going to the East Kesteven Rural District.

RAF Metheringham

RAF Metheringham was a Royal Air Force station situated between the villages of Metheringham and Martin and 12.1 mi south east of the county town Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. Operated as a bomber airfield during World War II the station opened in October 1943 and was decommissioned in the spring of 1946. Although now mostly returned to agricultural and commercial uses the site retains one original runway, the eastern perimeter track and some contemporary buildings together with a No.
