RAF Matching

RAF Matching (also known as Matching Green) is a former World War II airfield in Essex, England. The airfield is located approximately 5 miles east of Harlow; about 22 miles northeast of London Opened in 1944, it was used by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces. During the war it was used primarily as a bomber airfield. After the war it was closed in 1946. Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property being used as agricultural fields.

Saint Nicholas School, Essex

Saint Nicholas School Saint Nicholas School was established in 1939 in a group of buildings set in the heart of the hamlet of Churchgate Street, near Old Harlow. A move to nearby Hillingdon House in 1977 and a substantial building programme in recent years allowed for gradual expansion of the school to its present size of over 400 boys and girls aged 4–16. The school is situated in gardens and grounds which extend to more than 14 acres .

Lower Sheering

Lower Sheering is a village in Essex, located on the outskirts of Harlow. It, along with the neighbouring village of Sheering, forms the Civil Parish of Sheering, part of the Epping Forest District. Lower Sheering has about 1100 households and lies in the Stort Valley adjoining the town of Sawbridgeworth. It has a large number of businesses in The Maltings and The Railway Inn Hotel close to Sawbridgeworth Station on the West Anglia Main Line between Cambridge and Liverpool Street.

Fawbert and Barnard's School

Fawbert and Barnard's Undenominational (Voluntary Controlled) Primary School was founded by a charitable trust in 1836 under a provision contained in the will of George Fawbert. The original charter, still held at the school, contains specific reference to the freedom of religious choice for both pupils and staff. Thus it is called Fawbert and Barnard's Undenominational School. The executor of the will, John Barnard, formed a Committee of Trustees to administer the school.
