Anstey is a village and civil parish in the East Hertfordshire district of Hertfordshire, England, about fifteen miles north-east of Stevenage. Anstey Castle
Anstey Castle was in the village of Anstey, Hertfordshire. It was a 12th century stone motte and bailey fortress, founded by Eustace, Count of Boulogne. It was strengthened during the Magna Carta war of 1215–16 by an opponent of King John. Only the mound motte now remains.
