Kyme Priory

Kyme Priory was a priory in South Kyme, Lincolnshire, England. The Augustinian Priory of Kyme was founded by Philip of Kyme, steward to Gilbert Earl of Lincoln, before 1169, in honour of the Blessed Mary, for about twelve Canons. In 1377 Bishop Bokyngham held a visitation, and he found the canons were in the habit of serving their appropriate churches in person, and not by means of secular vicars, and their community life had suffered in consequence.

Catley Priory

Catley Priory was a monastic house in Walcott, Lincolnshire, England. The Gilbertine priory of Saint Mary, Catley, was founded as a double house for nuns and monks between 1154 and 1158 by Peter of Billinghay. He endowed it with the whole of the then island of Catley, the site of a grange and some arable land in Walcott, the church at Billinghay and the chapel at Walcott, pasture for four hundred sheep and right of fishing on Walcott marsh.

The Car Dyke was, and to large extent still is, an eighty-five mile (140 kilometre) long ditch which runs along the western edge of the Fens in eastern England. The North Ings Farm Museum is a working farm museum containing a 24 gauge railway, running on a circuit of ⁄4 miles . It is located at Dorrington, between Lincoln and Sleaford, in Lincolnshire. The museum includes agricultural machinery and tractors, commercial vehicles, portable steam pumps and a fairground organ.

Dogdyke Engine

The Dogdyke Engine is a drainage engine near Tattershall, Lincolnshire, in England. The drainage of 2,500 acres of land around Tattershall was authorised in 1796, and came under the control of the Witham Third District commissioners in 1844 The building dates to 1856 when a rotative beam engine was built to replace windmill style engines possibly dating to 1540 and draining land between the rivers Bain and Witham.
